Weddings | Behind the Lens

As your wedding photographer, the work begins months before the actual wedding day. I’ll spend some time working with you to search for locations and ensure your wedding day timeline flows perfectly throughout the day. This is probably the first wedding that you have planned, but its not the first wedding I have photographed! I know when to add additional time to a timeline or when to move family portraits to a later time.

Engagement sessions are also included in most wedding day packages because it gives us the chance to get to know each other. You’ll practice spending some time in front of the camera which ensures your wedding day photos are natural and stress free.

I am a story telling portrait photographer and enjoy creating art that is natural, candid and timeless! During weddings, I strive to capture all the natural moments as unobtrusively as possible. That being said, sometimes those natural moments don't happen so "naturally" - or when they do, they aren't the most flattering or captivating of images. So I may also create the moments that photograph well. Many of my clients report that they love to look through their wedding day album because it tells such a great story of your wedding day, your family, and the love and details we captured during your big day.

I have been a professional photographer since 2012, but actually began learning photography in high school! My business began with family portraits, newborns and events like birthday parties and baby showers. It wasn’t until I as sure of my skills as a photographer that I began documenting weddings, taking time for education and experiences before being honored to document my client’s big day.

I take just a limited number of weddings each year, which guarantees that my time and attention is devoted to just you and your wedding day.  I am fully insured and use professional grade Nikon cameras and lenses. While I prefer natural light, I also use flash photography, both on camera and off. Often times churches and reception halls are rather dark and additional lighting may be necessary. And I always bring backup equipment, which just in case!
