Ever wonder when is the best time of day to take photos?
As photographers, we love the "golden hour," as the hour before the sun sets provides some beautiful lighting.
But for those of us with little kids, that hour before sunset is also known as the "witching hour" as our kids are just nuts! No matter how well behaved your kids might be, attempting photographs at their typical bedtime is probably not going to end well. 😆
So when should we take those pictures?
Anything other than the mid day hours. This photo was taken about 1-2pm, in the shade, facing away from the sun ... but we are still squinting. The sun during the mid day provides so much bright light that is reflected off of everything around us and it's hard not to squint.
But I still love this photo of myself and four generations of family. So don't wait for the perfect lighting or the perfect backdrop (note the garbage in the parking lot around us?) - just take the photo!
