Since 2012, C Red Photos has photographed everything from individual families, newborns in the hospital that are less than 24 hours old, to photographing weddings and other special events that my clients celebrate.
I grew up in a large family – I have four brothers – so there were always large family gatherings. I distinctly remember finding my mom’s camera sitting on the end table and playing around with it … and then opening the back and exposing the entire roll of film! It wasn’t long after that when I was given my own camera (probably to stop ruining my mom’s pictures!). By junior high school I was well on my way to being a photographer.
I have a master’s degree in Social Work and have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2007. I became an LCSW because I was excited to be in a profession where I could teach and help people every day. I love extending this into my photography by teaching others how to use a camera. I want to make the technical photography skills easy to learn so that everyone can have amazing snapshots of their family.
I spend my days working in an elementary school and have years of experience working with children of various abilities – sensory differences, autism, hearing and speech delays, behavior and mental health concerns. One of my biggest passions is coaxing smiles from even the most anxious child, resulting in a beautiful portrait that you will treasure for a lifetime.
When I am not behind the camera, you can find my husband and I riding a few miles through the local forest preserve with our 5 year old son and 1 1/2 year old daughter in the bike trailer, or up to my elbows in legos on the living room floor.
